The Underground Utility Contractors of Florida
Annual President's Cup
Two-Man, Three-Day Golf Tournament

OCTOBER 2–4, 2009
PGA NATIONAL RESORT & SPA
PALM BEACH GARDENS

The Fourteenth Annual UUCF President’s Cup Golf Tournament, held on October 2–4, was a lot of fun. Golfers teed off on the Haig course on Friday, Champion course on Saturday and Squire course on Sunday at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. The golfers were able to play all three days rain free; however, it was very hot and humid.

This year’s tournament can be attributed to Chairman Mike Woodall’s, John Woody, Inc., efforts to provide the golfers with a memorable weekend of golf. Special thanks goes to Mike for his dedication and hard work on making this tournament one of UUCF’s premier events of the year. Tournament players were vying for great prizes including a chance to win $40,000.

The team of Joe Cobb and Stephen Davis (Consolidated Pipe & Supply Co., Inc.) played consistently throughout the tournament. Their scores of 58 on Friday, 57 on Saturday and 66 on Sunday afforded their team as the Overall Winners of the three–day tournament.

As in the past, the tournament was a two–man team, three–day event. Each day was a different format. On Friday, the teams competed in a two–man best ball, Saturday a two–man scramble and concluded Sunday with a two–man alternate shot. On Saturday, the golfers had a chance to win $40,000 as a Hole–in–One Contest prize.

The golfers were also competing for a $300.00 cash prize for the Ball in the Circle Contest. The contest was held throughout the tournament on select holes. Nobody hit their ball in the circle on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and nobody made a Hole–in–One on Saturday.

During Friday and Saturday’s tournament, a putting contest was held. On Friday, the winner of the Putting Contest was Justin James. On Saturday, the winners of the Putting Contest were Michael Swindal, Stephen Davis, Bruce Wendorf and Greg Marsh. On Sunday, the winners of the Putting Contest were Scott Pittman and Mike Rhodes.

UUCF would like to thank all our participants for coming out and enjoying a wonderful weekend of golf with us.
